Other CCCF scholarships are available from specific schools and organizations.
Guidelines and Residency Requirements
In order to be considered for CCCF Scholarships, you must be a resident of Clare County. For the purpose of the CCCF program, you are considered a resident of Clare County if you are a United States citizen and one of the following additional conditions apply:
- Applicant has been a legal resident of Clare County for at least a year
- Applicant is a current high school senior graduating from a Clare County high school
Scholarship Qualifications and Application Instructions
Helen Lucile Doherty Scholarship for the Fine and Performing Arts
To qualify as a possible recipient of the Helen Lucile Doherty Scholarship for the Fine and Performing Arts, an individual must meet all of the criteria below:
- Be a Clare High School graduating senior
- Have been involved in fine or performing arts in school
- Intend to pursue higher education for the study of the fine or performing arts.

The Harrison Kiwanis Club Scholarship
To qualify as a possible recipient of The Harrison Kiwanis Club Scholarship, an individual must meet all of the criteria below:
- Be a Harrison High School graduating senior
- Be highly motivated toward community service

Joe Johnston Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund
The Joe Johnston Memorial Endowed Scholarship provides an annual scholarship award of $2,500 (with an additional $200 to be used for books) to a student graduating from Clare High School in the year of the award.
To qualify as a possible recipient of Joe Johnston Memorial Endowed Scholarship, an individual must meet the criteria below:
- Be a Clare High School graduating senior
- Have maintained a 2.5 GPA minimum grade point average
- Have been involved/or are currently involved in a minimum of one varsity sport
- Be involved in extra-curricular activities with school, church, community or work
- Have financial need

Matthew J. Reinke Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund
Provides an annual scholarship award to a graduating senior at Harrison Community Schools who has achieved a 3.0 grade point average or better and plans a career in teaching at the elementary or secondary level. If there is no qualifying applicant in this curriculum then the field of education is open. The recipient must have participated and lettered in at least one varsity sport. The scholarship application must include a letter of recommendation from a varsity coach which testifies to the applicant's traits of good character and sportsmanship following Matt's philosophy, "the only thing worse than losing is quitting". The Larry and Anne Smith Endowed Scholarship Fund
The Larry and Anne Smith Endowed Scholarship Fund provides and annual scholarship award of $500 to a Harrison High School graduating senior who
a.) has maintained a 2.5 minimum grade point
b.) exhibits an outstanding attitude toward school and community, and
c.) is pursuing education at an accredited college, university or trade school.
Preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need. To apply, please contact Tom House, Principal of Harrison High School, at 989-539-7141.
