Role within the Foundation

Ken is responsible for the Foundation's competitive grants process, scholarships, and work with donor-advisors. In addition to his role as Program Officer, Ken leads the Gang and Violence Prevention Partnership project. He is responsible for the Week of Nonviolence, which takes place in area schools every February, as well as all the other functions of the Partnership. Information of Interest

Ken holds 28 years of Law Enforcement experience with the Midland County Sheriff's Office. He attended Delta and SVSU and received an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. Ken then went on to graduate from the F.B.I. National Academy in 1997.

Ken came to the Foundation in 2001. With extensive background on gangs, school safety and school violence, Ken was able to use his expertise as the co-founder of the Gang and Violence Project.

Ken has lived and worked in Midland County all but four years of his life. He has been married to his wife Lorie since September 13, 1986, and has two daughters, Linden and Kaitlin.

Along with his involvement within the Foundation, Ken is involved in Midland Noon Rotary, Midland Public Schools as a school board member and Health and Human Service Council. In his spare time, Ken enjoys fishing, hunting and exercise.
