Courthouse Lighting/Santa House Tradition
Continues
Start your holiday season with a magical evening
as you and your family experience the arrival of Santa Claus to his local home
at the Midland Santa House and the annual Midland Courthouse Lighting Ceremony
scheduled for Tuesday evening, December 2. The traditional festivities get underway at 7:00 p.m. with the arrival
of Santa Claus at the Tridge in downtown Midland.
Santa will lead the caroling crowd from the
Tridge to the Midland County Courthouse for a brief program where he will be
presented with the keys to his house and join in the lighting of the Courthouse
displays. Holiday
music will be provided, and volunteers from Salvation Army and the MSU
Extension will serve refreshments near and in the Courthouse. Many downtown stores will stay open later.
Immediately following the lighting ceremony,
Santa will then open the door of his Midland
workshop for visitors. He will greet
families from his fireside chair daily through December 23. The house will be closed on December 24 and
25, but will re-open December 26 & 27 without Santa. Families wishing to bring cameras are welcome
to do so.
A daily schedule of the Santa House hours can be
found here or you may call the Foundation at 989.839.9661.
