The park, located on Poseyville
Road, is truly a unique piece of property in Midland. The Whiting family donated the land and since
the dedication in 1985, the park has been an
asset to the community. With wide open spaces, a place for
reflection, relaxation and a truly unique high view, the park attracts many
visitors.
The Park was revitalized in 2008 and rededicated. The Foundation managed the project, replacing the eight current interpretive signs, repaving the parking area, developing a new picnic area, replacing the gate and entry signs and expanding landscape plantings. In addition, the park now features an extension of the Chippewa Trail, allowing bikers, hikers and joggers to loop through Overlook Park on the Dow Trail and connect back up to the Chippewa Trail.
