YACer of the Month
Harley Sasse, President of GladYAC, has been nominated for YACer of the month. Harley has been a GladYac member since 6th grade. She has volunteered hours of time to volunteering in her community and the Midland Area Community Foundation is proud to nominate a leader of Harley's caliber to Yacer of the month. Keep an eye on the Youth Grantmaker's website to see if Harley is selected from a statewide group of nominees.
Lynn Heil says,
"Harley has boundless energy. In sixth grade, she was one of the founding members of her YAC. As a sophomore she became her group's secretary and now, in her junior year, she is the president. For the 6 years she has been a member, she has only missed one meeting ever! The most impressive thing about Harley's increasing responsibility is her incredible drive to be the best president she can be. She puts lots of thought into each meeting and how to best lead her peers and is constantly improving. She is very fun-loving and dives into any project full-heartedly."
Harley says, "I am involved in youth philanthropy for numerous reasons. I love helping people and knowing that I can make a difference. Every person has a
part to play in making change and I believe that mine lies in helping
people, because that is when I am happiest. The reward for making
people happy is priceless. That is what I do in my group; together we
make people happy and have fun while doing it. Being involved in youth philanthropy has taught me a lot of things that I will need to
know in life, and I have met some extraordinary people in my time
involved. I also look forward to meeting many more. These are some of
the reasons that I am involved with youth philanthropy."
