Arts & Culture Grants
Beginning this year, Midland Area Community Foundation is engaging in a new partnership with the Michigan Cultural Data Project (Michigan CDP.) The Michigan CDP’s purpose is to gather reliable data that can demonstrate the impact of the arts and cultural sector throughout our state, while at the same time providing arts and cultural institutions with an online financial management tool that can strengthen their organizations. The Michigan CDP is a collaborative effort of public and private funders throughout Michigan, with each funder collecting financial and programmatic data on the arts and cultural sector in a consistent format that can then be used for research and advocacy.
Through the Michigan CDP, participating organizations can track their own financial and programmatic performance over time and compare themselves against similar organizations in specific disciplines, geographic regions, and budget sizes.
Midland Area Community Foundation now strongly recommends all arts & culture/entertainment applicants to participate in the Michigan CDP. Applicants to this program must submit a CDP Data Profile, which is an online, 11-section form, for their [two] most recently completed fiscal years. You will use the information entered into the Data Profiles in your application to Midland Area Community Foundation, and can then use your completed Data Profile to more easily apply to other participating funders throughout the state.
During this transition time, participation is strongly recommended, although not required. However, participation will be required for funding consideration beginning May 15, 2013.
