Arthur and Martha McComb Endowed Scholarship Fund #497
To provide an annual scholarship award to a graduating senior, returning student or a non-traditional student who demonstrates financial need. This scholarship is open to any course of study but preference will be given to students’ pursuing a degree in chemical process technology/chemical process operator or Child Development. The recipient must be a graduate of a Midland or Gladwin County high school or reside in these counties.
From the fundholder:
Arthur and Martha Rabe McComb were born in northern Midland County and southern Gladwin County respectively. Art could have been a fine mechanical engineer and Martha a great teacher, but neither had the opportunity to attend college or a trade school because their farm family income was very limited. Art and Martha worked hard to allow their three children to all graduate from college as a teacher, a nurse, and an engineer. This scholarship was established in their honor and to continue the McComb name in the Midland area.
