To provide an annual scholarship award to a graduating senior or graduate of a Midland County high school who is pursuing a education in a science or engineering field. A preference will be given to students pursuing a degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, computer science or biochemistry.

From the fundholder:

I want to help make it possible for students with a talent for math and science and the ability to use that knowledge creatively to become leading scientists that will move this country forward. I think schools should be trying harder to recognize these students early and letting them focus on their strengths and forego the distractions aimed at making them what they call well-rounded individuals. My scholarships are aimed at helping talented individuals become outstanding scientists.
