Dr. Shailer L. Bass Memorial Scholarship Fund #209
To provide an annual grant to a non-traditional student pursuing post high school studies at a community college, college, or university. Previous recipients may reapply.
From the fundholder:
Shailer Bass made a difference because he passed our way. In 1962 he was named president of Dow Corning and retired in 1971 as chairman of the board. He was active at the Midland Center of the Arts where he was a fundraising chairman, served on the Midland School Board for 12 years, and was part of a group whose planning lead to the formation of Delta College.
With Shailer’s broad appreciation of education, getting things done, insisting on facts and hard work, it is fitting that his family has established this scholarship in his honor.
