Midland Believes is a different kind of scholarship targeting economically disadvantaged and first-generation college-going students i.e. none of the parents/guardians have earned a college degree.
After state and federal aid, these students are left with an average cost of $4,000 to complete a two-year degree or certificate. Additionally, mentoring is often needed during their critical first year of college. The Midland Believes Scholarship helps with both aspects. The long-term goal is to lower the number of Midland County residents dependent on government and social supports.
Will you consider “believing” with us in this new scholarship at the Midland Area Community Foundation:
- by hosting a presentation to your organization?
- by sharing informational materials with members of your organization?
- by learning more through an in-person meeting or phone call?
