Clare County Community Foundation Celebrates the New Year with 2 Million Dollars!

Clare logoThe Clare County Community Foundation ended 2010 with an asset balance of 2 million dollars.  The Community Foundation serves Clare County by making grants to Clare County nonprofits and awarding scholarships to Clare County residents.

This year, because of donations and increased investment returns, the Clare County Community Foundation is celebrating an asset level of 2 million dollars.  This milestone achievement was made possible by the generosity of Clare County donors.  “This is truly historic for Clare County, “said Jim Allen, Executive Director of the Clare County Community Foundation.  “Having an asset level like this allows us to give out more grants in 2011 than ever before.”  In 2009, we were able to grant $27,373 back into the community and in 2010, just over $42,000 was awarded.  This increase is a result of conservative investing and individuals’ generosity.  “These grants and scholarships are investments into our community’s future” said Allen.

Community Foundations accept contributions from the community and support the county they represent.  There is a community foundation representing every county in Michigan.
