Submitted by:  Disability Network of Mid-Michigan

Midland, Mich. – (April 28, 2010) – Disability Network of Mid-Michigan and Creative 360 are hosting a collaborative art event on Saturday May 8th from 10 am to 4 pm at Creative 360, 1517 Bayliss Road, Midland. Drop by at any time to participate in this exciting art adventure. Dwayne Szot from Zot Artz - Arts for All - will facilitate the art project that is completely accessible to people of all ages and abilities. The project will focus on disability awareness and community collaboration. This is a great event for families; people with and without disabilities are encouraged to participate.

Each Arts for All participant will have the opportunity to make an individual print to take home. Participants also can use unique accessible art tools to “make their mark” on a large-scale art piece that will take up the majority of the Creative 360 interior space. In addition, while supplies last, each participant will get to print a free T-shirt to keep. A drawing will be held at the event for one person to win a canvas piece from the event. You do not have to be present to win.

Weather permitting,  there also will be outdoor art activities and additional disability awareness activities for the community to enjoy.

Arts for All will culminate with an exhibit at Creative 360 and the permanent display of a canvas mural at Disability Network’s new building at 1705 South Saginaw Road.

Arts for All is sponsored by a grant from the Midland Area Community Foundation. The Midland Area Community Foundation strengthens our community by providing leadership, fostering collaboration on local needs and issues, and encouraging a legacy of giving through grants, scholarships, and events.

Disability Network of Mid-Michigan is a non-profit organization that promotes and encourages independence for all people with disabilities. Disability Network offers various programs for people with disabilities of all ages in eight Mid-Michigan counties.

Creative 360, by hosting this event, demonstrates its mission to create an environment for people of all ages to experience the creative process through ongoing classes, events, art exhibits, concerts, and outreach programs.
