Get Dirty! Have Fun!

With volunteer assistance from MyPros,  Midland’s Young Professional’s Networking group, the first ever Mud Volleyball tournament will take place both July 16 and 17 during RIVERDAYS.  Friday the focus will be on teams representing organizations, businesses and nonprofits.  Saturday is open to individual teams.  All games will be played in Chippewasee Park.

Angela Phillips, a Dow Chemical Company employee, has organized two teams, one for her colleagues on Friday and one for her friends on Saturday.   “Both my Friday co-worker team and Saturday team of friends are excited to duct tape our shoes to our feet and play volleyball in the mud.  I'm certain Heidi McIvor and the MACF staff have a very fun and well organized tournament in store for us.” said Angela.

Doug Randall of Ieuter Insurance knows that the event will be a success not only for the muddy fun of it but also because it will bring folks together.  “The MyPros group, Heidi McIvor and the MACF staff have all worked to pull this together.  Not only is this a fun tournament that our business and nonprofit community can get involved in, we’re all helping plan it which really makes it a unique community-driven event.”

Response to the initial request for registrations has been incredible says Heidi McIvor of the Midland Country Club, who is coordinating the tournament on behalf of MyPros. “Now we need to find out where we’re going to set up showers for the players!” she laughs.

Registration is ten dollars per person and the registration form can be found at

We have noticed some discourse regarding gender equality in the comments section.  While we appreciate all viewpoints, our intent is to inform folks about the great activities taking place on Friday and Saturday.  We have removed all comments as they have not been in regards to RIVERDAYS itself.
