Midland Area Community Foundation Seeks New President/CEO
The Midland Area Community Foundation is seeking a proven leader whose passion for service to the community is demonstrated by a career-long dedication to improving the human condition. As a leader with exceptional communication ability, this person must exhibit success in collaborating with key stakeholders in the community and convening people with common interests and concerns to achieve goals in a productive manner. Leadership experience should be demonstrated by a commitment to excellence, integrity and professionalism.
First-hand experience fundraising and developing donor relationships is highly preferred. Career experience in a top leadership position in the foundation profession, nonprofit, business, government or civic organization is highly desirable in addition to serving in voluntary leadership capacities on local, regional or national nonprofit governing boards. A strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting best practices and systems is preferred as well as knowledge of community foundation concept and structure, preferably though professional experience. Leading and empowering a highly competent staff are required skills. Energy, natural optimism, and the ability to be a good listener are important personal attributes for this position. Applicants must be Midland County residents or be willing to relocate to Midland County.
The Midland Area Community Foundation is dedicated to strengthening our community by providing leadership, fostering collaboration on local needs and issues, and encouraging a legacy of giving through grants, scholarships, and events. With over 400 funds, we are able to serve the constantly evolving needs of our community in many unique ways. The Foundation serves thousands of people who share a common concern to improve the quality of life in Midland, Clare and Gladwin Counties.
With total assets in excess of $65 million, the Foundation provides over $2.3 million in annual grants to the community. We are proud that the foundation also awarded approximately $330,000 in scholarships in 2011.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
