Scholarships for Clare High Students or Alumni

Robert and Mary Lou (Krchmar) Ames Endowed Scholarship Fund ($1,000)

Provides annual scholarship awards to graduating seniors from both Marion High School and Clare High School.

Fred Doherty Scholarship Fund ($2,000)

Provide an annual scholarship award to the Clare High School graduating senior who a) lettered in football during his senior year and b)has the highest GPA on the football team.  If two or more students are of equal standing, the scholarship shall be divided accordingly.

Reine M. Doherty Scholarship Fund ($1,000)

Provide an annual scholarship award to the Clare High School graduating senior who a) lettered in softball during her senior year and b) had the highest GPA on the softball team.  If two or more students are of equal standing, the scholarship shall be divided accordingly.

Helen Lucile Doherty Scholarship Endowment for the Fine and Performing Arts ($2,000)

Provide an annual scholarship award to a graduating senior of Clare High School for the purpose of pursuing higher education for the study of the fine arts or the performing arts.

Dr. David and Colleen Bremer Endowed Scholarship Fund ($500)

To provide an annual scholarship award to a Clare High School graduating senior.  The most important criteria for the successful applicant will be financial need, limited additional options for assistance, and a true desire to pursue higher education.

Joe Johnston Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund ($2,000)

To provide an annual scholarship award to a student(s) graduating from Clare High School in the year of the award.

The Sons of The American Legion Squadron 404 Endowed Scholarship Fund ($750)

To provide an annual scholarship award to a graduating senior of Clare, Farwell or Harrison high school who will be attending a college or trade school that has displayed leadership and community involvement at school, church or an organization such as 4-H or Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts.  The recipient must have a parent or grandparent that has served in the Military in some capacity and must provide proof of this service.

Richard and Evelynn Fay Koontz Endowed Scholarship Fund (up to $1,500)

To provide one or more annual scholarship award(s) to a graduate of Clare High School who will be pursuing a degree or certification from a university, community college or trade school.

Ben Walter Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund ($1,000)

To provide an annual scholarship award to one or more graduating seniors from Clare High School who are pursuing a skilled trades or technical field of study.  Students attending Mid Michigan Community College will be given preference.
