The Midland Area Community Foundation invites local nonprofit organizations to register for Give Local Midland 2025, the annual 24-hour giving event designed to strengthen and sustain area nonprofits through endowment growth. Endowment funds are key in building permanent community capital because they provide perpetual financial support, ensuring long-term stability and growth for organizations. The event is set to take place on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, and nonprofit registration is now officially open.
Nonprofits must hold an endowed fund at the Midland Area Community Foundation to be eligible to participate in Give Local Midland. Participating organizations will receive community contributions and a portion of a $60,000+ (and growing) matching pool generously provided by the Community Foundation and its Donor Advised Fundholders.
“Give Local Midland is more than just a fundraising event—it’s an opportunity for nonprofits to engage with donors, raise awareness about their missions, and secure long-term financial stability,” said Sharon Mortensen, President & CEO of the Midland Area Community Foundation. “By participating, organizations receive both immediate financial support and the long-term benefits of endowment growth.”
Why should nonprofits register?
- Increased Funding Potential – All participating organizations will receive a proportional share of the $60,000+ match pool.
- Prize Opportunities – Nonprofits can compete for $3,000 in additional prizes awarded for donor engagement, creativity, and strategic outreach.
- Long-Term Sustainability – Donations made on May 6 will be deposited into the spendable portion of endowment funds, while matching dollars will be deposited into the permanent portion of funds, ensuring future financial security.
- Community Engagement – Give Local Midland provides a platform to connect with new donors, amplify impact, and rally support for critical community programs.
