Midland Area Community Foundation and Long-Term Recovery Group’s Fourth Flood Recovery Update and Connections Session to Center on Business Recovery

September 29th, 2020

Midland Area Community Foundation (MACF), in conjunction with the Long-Term Recovery Group, will be hosting a Flood Recovery Update and Connections Session centered on business recovery on October 1st at 10:30am. Previous sessions have included content about disaster case management, FEMA, and mental wellbeing

“The Midland Area Community Foundation has the goal of providing educational sessions featuring experts from their respective fields,” said Sharon Mortensen, President and CEO of the Midland Area Community Foundation and member of the Long-Term Recovery Group Steering Committee. “Our local businesses were impacted in varying ways due to the unfortunate dam failures that took place this past spring. Having Tony Stamas from the Midland Business Alliance as a guest on this upcoming session provides our session participants with the opportunity to interact with someone that has their finger directly on the pulse of business development in Midland County.”

Flood Recovery Update and Connections are open to everyone. Attendees are asked to register for the sessions at MidlandFoundation.org/ZoomIntoFlood. Sessions are held the first and third Thursday of the month at 10:30am. For those unable to attend, replays of past sessions are also available at MidlandFoundation.org/ZoomIntoFlood.

“The Midland Business Alliance is strategically aligned to boost innovation while attracting, retaining, and expanding businesses,” said Tony Stamas, President & CEO of the Midland Business Alliance. “The May flooding event, compounded with a global pandemic, has challenged our businesses to be resilient in ways we never imagined.”

“Flood recovery is a complicated and ever-evolving undertaking,” said Mortensen. “Together with the Long-Term Recovery Group, we are working to make sure Midlanders understand resources are available as we journey together through flood recovery.”
