To assist with the cost of tuition, books and fees for college students in preparation for a career in early elementary education. For a resident of Midland County who has completed at least 48 semester credit hours of college, The student must be enrolled full time in a curriculum for early elementary education at the time the award is received.

Alice and Earl Ziegler were, above all, kind and caring. They were dedicated to their family, friends, and neighbors and deeply involved in the Midland community, from Dow Chemical to MCFTA and from memorial Presbyterian Church to Midland’s Habitat for Humanity and Salvation Army. They were remarkably compassionate, progressive and philanthropic and placed special importance on literacy, literature, and education. Their Midland Area Community Foundation scholarship provides a wonderful reflection of their values and reminder of their legacy.
