Steve Redman was born in Midland, and indeed, he did live in Midland. Steve graduated from Midland High in 1968 and went on to Alma College and Wayne State Medical School, coming back to Midland in 1975 to become a Family Practice resident. After he became a board-certified family physician, he joined Midland Family Physicians where he practiced until his death in 1993.
Steve, an active person, enjoyed especially skiing and sailing. He was awarded many trophies for competitions in each sport. And one of his true joys was coaching his two sons. Steve was a member of Memorial Presbyterian serving on the stewardship committee and a member of the Midland Country Club. He served as the”hockey doc” for the Midland Chemics.
His family and friends established this scholarship as a living memorial thatwould encourage and aid aspiring primary care physicians to follow theprofession he loved.
