MACF Thanks 100 Club for Generous Contribution

November 25th, 2020

Midland Area Community Foundation (MACF) would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to the 100 Club for their generous donations to the #ReliefMidland Flood Relief Fund. We congratulate the 100 Club on their incredible philanthropy in our community!

This amazing group of over 550 women quietly go about making a difference in the Midland community. Since the 100 Club’s establishment in 2009, the group has given over $1.1 million to a variety of nonprofits doing important and transformational work. The idea behind this giving circle is simple. Each member contributes $100 three times per year. The group pools contributions and collectively decides which local organizations to impact with its gift.

Given the devastation earlier this year, this gift enables MACF’s #ReliefMidland Flood Relief Fund to continue making an impact on the flood relief work being completed in Midland County. MACF is actively working with the Long-Term Disaster Recovery Group to steward and effectively deploy these donations to help individuals and families with flood recovery.

By focusing on the future of our community and investing in case management, we are investing in a long-term recovery plan that avoids duplication, maximizes resources, and provides equitable access for all. The 100 Club’s donation will further the important flood recovery work taking place.

We should mention that this is the second time this year the 100 Club has focused on major challenges facing our community. The 100 Club gave generously to the COVID-19 Fund which provided important help to individuals and nonprofits. Midland Area Community Foundation worked jointly with United Way of Midland County to help distribute these monies to nonprofits reeling from the impact of the pandemic.

Thank you, 100 Club of Midland, for your steadfast dedication to making a difference in our community. Your group is proof that when we work together, we can truly accomplish great things.

Sincerely,

Sharon Mortensen
