The Caregiving Network of Midland Granted Funds for New Food Pantry Ramp by The Big Give

November 12th, 2021

The Big Give is happy to announce a $14,200 grant to the Caregiving Network of Midland to enable safe access to the Caregiving Network’s food pantry and household goods pantry. The Caregiving Network’s food pantry gives Midland County residents the means to access safe and healthy food sources when income or crisis impedes access to a reliable meal.

The Caregiving Network’s food pantry can be the first source of security for many in the community. Nearly 11% of Midland residents live in poverty, and even more find themselves at the threshold, putting them at risk of being pushed over by a high energy bill, a medical emergency, a car repair, or whatever may come their way. The Caregiving Network’s food pantry provides for the community when a reliable meal seems out of reach.

The Big Give is a giving circle representing more than 100 men from the greater Midland area who are dedicated to helping local nonprofit agencies. To date, over $300,000 has been donated to Midland County nonprofits through The Big Give.

A fund to support The Big Give initiative is held at the Midland Area Community Foundation. The Foundation has been investing in the community by creating a way for individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to contribute to community wellbeing for 45 years.
