Addiction Recovery Agency Receives $13,400 Gift from The Big Give

December 7th, 2017

For A Brighter Tomorrow, a Midland-based addiction recovery agency, recently earned a $13,400 grant thanks to a local men’s giving circle.

“The Big Give is a group of men that meets three times a year and donates $100 each meeting,” said John Wilson, chair of The Big Give. “The group votes on a different local nonprofit to donate to each time. We’re proud to support For A Brighter Tomorrow with our most recent gift.”

For A Brighter Tomorrow was established to help those suffering with an addiction. Through counseling sessions, drug and alcohol testing, help with transportation and sponsoring sober housing, the agency hopes to eliminate obstacles that discourage recovery.

“I helped found For A Brighter Tomorrow after our family experienced the horror of addiction,” said Lori Wood, co-founder of the nonprofit agency. “Both of our daughters were inflicted with the disease of addiction. Our oldest daughter lost her ten year battle in 2012 at the age of 28. For A Brighter Tomorrow exists to help others in their own recovery process.”

To date, The Big Give has donated $161,150 to a variety of local nonprofit agencies impacting the Midland community.
